The largest core in the industry at 64MM for 100MM Wheels and 74MM for 110MM Wheels. The REFLEX design allows for controlled flex, providing a return snap to every push. SNAP not achievable among its competitors. The large core design displaces the urethane mass to the outer most position of the wheel, providing increased control and much anticipated momentum. REFLEX cores are designed to support wheel widths between the .904 and .950. This is a variable allowing us to reduce weight for the tech gurus looking to use muscle and energy to push rather than inertia. More importantly we have the capability to adjust our reflex snap as we develop new proprietary urethanes for specific tracks around the world.

REFLEX Cores were specifically designed to support several materials, all which are significantly important under specific applications. Reflex Cores are built with simple plastics as well as more complex hybrid materials like urethane, as well as urethane and glass blends. This never talked about information is instrumental to the success of competitive inline racing wheels.

Momentum: gyro - rotating mechanism in the form of a universally mounted spinning wheel that offers resistance to turns in any direction. This resistant provides unparallel stability in the straights and turns. 

Complex hybrid materials:The first core designed to support urethane,urethane-glass and/or plastics. These exotic materials allow for adjustable flex, maximizing snap for each type of surface and style of skater

Largest Core in the industry: Atom has pushed the envelope, going where no other company has gone. Four millimeters larger in both the 100 and 110mm cores, forcing the Urethane to the crown of the wheel increasing momentum.

X-Flex

Atom began planning, engineering and testing Xflex Technology over a year and a half ago with the narrow focus on outdoor racing. It was evident that we would need to make a lighter, faster product that offers superb grip and control. The result? Xflex.

Our one-piece Xflex cores are precision tools, not toys and the feedback on Xflex has been positively overwhelming. Atom uses superior urethane with higher-quality cores and now, thanks to Xflexs' 'scooped' spokes, are even lighter and faster creating more 'flex' which in turn equals more load and explode!

For all them techno gurus that think about removing every gram possible from their equipment. It has proven again and again that inline skates perform at their best with a moderate amount of mass. What is moderate? That is still unanswered; it has varied from skater to skater but all and all more has been better than less. Luigino, the number one boot manufacturer in the world has studied for year’s optimizing ratios of weight utilizing inertia vs. no weight using pure strength. You can imagine why there are restrictions on the weight of golf balls as well as on golf club heads. Inline speed skating is a sport driven by manpower with skating surfaces that include massive friction. We have made the lightest boots in the world to have them fail miserably as well as the lightest frames to only find them breaking and not performing at elite standards. Unlike ice blades that have nearly no friction, we are forcing an inline chasse to turn sharp corners and maneuver straits under high stress creating heat, wear and fatigue on the wheels. As wheels became larger the market detoured to weight reduction and the importance of urethane mass was forgotten. Atom has returned to the vital aspects keeping weight at a minimum while sustaining ultimate performance as our priority.

So if you’re looking for the lightest wheel in the world we are not going to be your first choice, but if you want to go as fast as you’re capable of going whether it be indoor or outdoor Atom Wheels is your choice.
