Tannibal's Bio: I grew up at the local skating rink, (Skateland), as a rink rat. At the age of 8 I started taking speed skating classes from my current teammate/coach Dani Lewis, aka Sassy. At the age of 9 I started playing roller hockey and continued to pursue as many roller skating sports as I possibly could that didn’t require any sort of TUTU. I heard about roller derby in early 2006 and was curious. I knew that a couple of my former competitors, the Tamaccio sisters, (now teammates), from my speed skating years were currently skating for the Rat City team. Sassy and I drove up to see what it was all about. I was hooked the second I saw it. The first thing that popped into my head was, "Wow! I get to go fast and hit people, what better sport is there?" In the winter of 2006, a woman came into Skateland and asked Sassy and I if we had heard of or seen roller derby and if we were willing to teach girls how to skate? We just figured, why not play?

In 2004-2006, I played on the USA women’s roller hockey team and competed in different countries around the world. In 2007, I was a national champion in speed skating. In 2009 our derby team, the Cosa Nostra Donnas was the rookie team of the WFTDA.It was unknown who we were and how far we would come, and in 2009 we were crowned the national champions for roller derby! In 2010 we were the nationals runner-ups.

I'm the funny one of the team... the 'stress reliever'... your classic, get her to do anything for a good laugh type a girl. Trust me, there are a few nick names out there for me that are pretty funny! I currently work for Atom Wheels and to me there is no better fit. I can skate better than I walk, so it only makes sense! I'm a closet pink lover, my favorite color is Orange, and I like long walks on the beach.
